We’re inviting everyone to share a family recipe that holds special significance—whether it’s a dish passed down through generations, a cultural favorite, or simply a meal that brings everyone together. The goal is to celebrate the diversity, traditions, and unique stories that food represents in our lives. This project is a wonderful opportunity to learn from one another and appreciate the rich diversity in our classrooms and communities.
Here’s what we’re asking students to submit:
- The Recipe: A dish that’s meaningful to their family (it can be a favorite meal, a holiday specialty, or something that tells a family story).
- A Brief Description: Why is this recipe important to them? How does it reflect their family, culture, or community? Are there any fun memories tied to preparing or sharing the dish?
We will share all the recipes with the school board, as they really enjoy seeing the creativity, effort, and personal stories that our students contribute. It’s always inspiring for them to witness the kinds of meaningful activities happening across our district!
As an added bonus, the school board will select their favorite recipes and 5 student winners will each receive a CSD Hoodie!
Along with recipes we are having another coloring contest! This time for the cover of the CSD Recipe Book, scroll down to the second post and you fill find the coloring pages! There will be one picture selected by the board to be the cover of the recipe book.
